Living life one Rolled Taco at a time

National “Do Not Fly Day” November 25, 2015

November 25, 2015 In response to the airlines crowding more and more people into their planes while adding fees for virtually everything, there is an underground uprising that I hope will take root.  Thanksgiving weekend is the busiest travel time of the year.  The Wednesday before Thanksgiving would normally be an insanely busy travel day. What if the majority of people simply refused to fly.. Read More

Getting Ready (Again)

With only about 60 days before we head to Spain to walk the Camino again there are a lot of preparations to be made.  ONE of those is to improve the quality of this Blog.  I was not happy with the old appearance and since I have been trapped inside the past few days with a viral lung infection, I’ve tried to spend some time.. Again

Once a Pilgrim, perhaps always a Pilgrim. On March 12, 2015 I am going to board a plane to Barcelona and a few days later start to walk the full Camino de Santiago again.  This trek goes from March 15 to April 18.  I will be accompanied by Marji, my “Sister” (was married to my Brother Russ and they have two beautiful children together). Thank you to everyone that did reach out; I do appreciate it even if I’m not able to get right back to you directly.  I figured that most of you get.. Read More

Winding down

I flew from Santiago de Composteles this morning and arrived to a beautiful sunny day in Barcelona.  Can’t beat the Mediterranean side of Spain.  It was only 10:30am so I pretty much knew my hotel room wouldn’t be ready but I wanted to walk up the Ramblas and find something to eat anyway.   They said they would have a room for me by 1pm.. A recommendation for the Tour Company – Spanish Steps

My 34 day trek on the Camino de Santiago was done through a tour company called “Spanish Steps”.  They offer a wide range of Tour options, most of which are much shorter and designed to be fun and not necessarily a life changing experience like the full Camino tour which they only offer once per year.   Click on the logo above to visit their.. Day 34 – (continued)

5km from the end of the Camino – Blowing rain and bitter cold   I have had heard that “Necessity is the Mother of invention” and had probably even been forced to improvise so in the past but when it started raining again on the trail after weeks of good weather, I was caught unprepared.  I had the gear to protect my upper body but none..
