Spanish Steps

My 34 day trek on the Camino de Santiago was done through a tour company called “Spanish Steps”.  They offer a wide range of Tour options, most of which are much shorter and designed to be fun and not necessarily a life changing experience like the full Camino tour which they only offer once per year.

Most of you know that I am capable of writing blistering reviews but I cannot say enough good things about this Company.  Everybody that I met, including the owner, Judy, is amazing.  You are made to instantly feel like part of their family and they take care of you  – constantly – without complaint.  The amount of effort and energy that goes into organizing and managing a trip of this length with a group our size (12) is enormous.  It is clear that Judy’s 20 years of experience on the Camino is a huge asset.  

 

I would especially like to thank Lu, our main guide and my adopted Sister and Mother, Jorge, our secondary Guide on the first part of the trip, and Francisco, our secondary Guide for the last part of the trip and, of course, Judy and Juan Carlos who joined us between Jorge and Fran.  I will always remember Judy’s laugh; it is impossible to not smile every time you hear it and Lu will always have a special place in my heart.  How can you not love the people who helped you change your life?
