Being away from Tim and only being able to have short Skype conversations has changed my mind about Gay Marriage. I found the perfect, romantic way to ask him and he found the perfect, romantic way to answer me. We are so happy!
I walked over 20 miles today and now I’m headed out trying to find a restaurant that’s open before 8pm. Eating in Spain is problematic. We are in Burgos which is home to the largest Cathedral in Spain. Our Guides have arranged a private tour tomorrow and I have recharged my camera battery which is why there’s not much on the Blog for today. I should have a fun posting tomorrow. Too tired to do it tonight.

I grok that you are experiencing a change of heart about marriage, but there are no plans yet. No se preocupe, mi amigo. In general, it seems only married people are opposed to marriage.
I binge to catch up on your blog and travels whenever possible. Your tenacity is admirable. I had faith that the knee pain would work itself out. Lots of studies show exercise is as good or better than other and invasive interventions and treatments for patello-femoral pain, chondromalacia, osteoarthritis, etc., i.e. most of the common causes of knee pain. I’m a little concerned about the use of systemic corticosteroids — the shot you got from a Spanish doc. Intra-articular injections are commonly done for short-term relief in cases of moderate to severe degenerative joint disease with inflammation, but never systemic corticosterioids (intramuscular shots and pills), which are catabolic and immune suppressive. They are are sometimes used second-line for a crystal arthritis like gout, but never for non-inflammatory knee pain. Please be careful what you ask for — you just might get it.
I was interested in the bath with the pointed entrance arches (day 5?). It was pretty clearly a ritual bath or mikveh from the gothic period, and interesting because of the Sephardic Jewish diaspora to the Iberian peninsula, and subsequent persecution and expulsion in the 15th century by King Ferdinand (Spanish Inquisition). There were subsequently many “conversos” and “crypto-jews” who converted to catholicism but retained some or many Jewish practices. So the history of the bath and its relation to the nearby castle structure would be interesting.
I was also interested in the short stone mound structure with the small square door. You said there were a few of them nearby and they looked like “smoke stained shelters.” To me they looked like a type of dolmen or stone tumulus or barrow, i.e. a type of burial mound that may have been built over a funeral pyre, hence the smoke stains. I could not find any examples online that looked just like these, so it would be interesting to learn some more about these structures.
So fracking has come to Spain? What the frak? Hopefully not along the Camino. “I ain’t no physisck, but I knows what matters. You’d think these swabs would have some intelligensk. I is disgustipated. Ack ack ack ack.”
Favor de mantenga el buen caminata (y perdone mi pobre espanol). All the best. Will continue to follow with anticip……ation. —

Very funny… I was at first shocked (before I saw the punch line). I thought how have I missed that JJ proposed? Hehehe.
Those videos take a long time to view Joe Jeter… we (I at least), want some comments! You’re a great writer… let’s hear some thoughts!
