Catchy Subject line I know but unfortunately this will be a sandwich without any filling. It’s 12:30am and I’ve just woken up after going to bed at 8:30pm. I needed to check some emails while it was still working hours back home and now I’m going to make a quick post and go back to bed.
Today was indeed 27 kilometers (17 miles), we actually had the 25 degree day with blowing snow, sleet & rain yesterday, and todays hike was punctuated by walking miles in gooey sticky mud that stuck to your boot and also stuck the ground. The additional weight and forces needed to pull your boots out of the mud with every step combined to make for a long and trying day. Marji and I trudged through it and it was worth it when we got to the Cathedral in Burgos, Spain (The largest Cathedral in Spain) and checked into our hotel which is directly across the square from the massive edifice.
Tomorrow is a short day (19km) and I am skipping the Cathedral tour at 10am because I was in the Burgos Cathedral in October and it felt evil inside. I will arrive hours before anybody else at our destination tomorrow and will, hopefully be in the mood to write up a decent post and add some of the photos from the past few days. They are only iPhone (or Samsung) phone pics because it’s still raining but that too is changing as I type this so tomorrow the real camera should come back into duty but we do have some fun shots.

Todays Fitbit stats. There is no “Starting Town” because we were in such a remote location it probably doesn’t show up on a map. We ended up in Burgos. Almost 17 miles, many of them done in mud.

You’re a great writing, often with great clarity. “I’m skipping the cathedral because last time it felt evil inside”. Wow. I remember that reaction last time. Dont blame you for not wanting to go back in. Wish we knew why it felt that way to you. You’ll have to let us know if anyone else feels that way.
