It’s been several years since I was in Barcelona. My flight actually arrived early and I was at the hotel by 8:00am. Not only did they have a room ready for me but they upgraded me to a Suite. It’s no big deal as the extra room is really more of a Parlor but it does have nice views of the City.
For those of you who are familiar with Barcelona, or any Spanish City or Town, you know that they stay up late and noise is a problem. That’s why I chose this hotel. I am literally out on the end of a Wharf but just a stones throw to the end of the Ramblas which is a major thoroughfare in the center of the City.
I’m reasonably settled in but I think I’m going to shower and take a quick nap. I just hope that the quick nap does not turn into an all day nap; that would be a disaster. My flight to Pamplona leaves here tomorrow at 10am so I will need to get up at a decent hour to keep from stressing about missing it. Once I get to Pamplona then I am in other people’s hands until Nov 4. Here’s a quick video I shot of my room. I have hundreds of photos of Barcelona from previous trips but I will refrain unless I see something really cool today.
And, HEY, thanks for the encouragement and comments. I feel a little bit isolated but it’s only been one day and I”m still weaving back and forth from the Jet Ride. The real alienation will come much later. My love to everybody!

Hey there Joe, jimmy and I watched The Walk last night. I think you said you didn’t see it. No spoiler alert necessary…it’s just a story of people walking with very different storylines. More than anything it gave us a flavor of what is heading your way landscape and miles-wise, though my guess is there is better lighting in the movie. We wanted you to know that we admire your openness to stepping off the edge. But remember, it’s just onto the next edge, not the abyss. T/J

Very cool keep the photos and video coming if you can. It helps. Miss you! Tim

And so it begins… This is like reading a Soap Opera! (or maybe the daily funnies…depends on how this whole thing goes! LOL) I have faith all will go as planned…can´t wait to hear about all the various personalities and random people you meet along the way. OH – and if you need any Catholic explanations about anything, my services are free of charge. Trust me, you´re gonna see some odd crypto-neo-gothic, crusader type stuff along this trek! Bon courage! Y buena suerte!

Nice Hotel! Sleek and European!
I’m thinking I better get my fat ass in gear and get back to the gym or you’re going to come back all lean and mean in November and shame me!
You go, Joe Jeter. I can’t wait for you to get to Pamplona and find out about your fellow Pilgrims…
