For two whole days I worked on a Blog Post to wrap up the entirety of my two Camino trips. Because I was writing when I was tired, it was an iterative process with lots of editorial changes but I had made significant progress. Once it was complete I wanted to go through and split it up into phases, chase down some suitable pictures, and then post the summary over a period of a week or two in digestible size pieces.
Then I got home and promptly got sick.
I’ve spent the entire week since I got home pretty much asleep. I get up to eat and then go right back to bed. It feels a little viral but I’m guessing it’s also the result of 34 pretty much full-on days of walking and climbing, and not sleeping that great, and mostly not eating that great, but being stimulated by incredible sights and sounds and meeting people and feeling the trip wind down to a fantastic conclusion. And then Splat.
I haven’t lost anything that I wrote and I have all my photos, but the creative process can’t be forced. Please check back in a few days to a week and see if I haven’t gotten my engine back. This is Saturday and I am definitely feeling better than I did yesterday although I am having a major nap attack as I write this.
Below is a group shot during our final hosted dinner as part of our Tour. I think we all look remarkably good considering that we had all just finished walking 1,000,000 steps. I will follow this post and this photo up soon with some conclusions about this experience of walking the Camino de Santiago and some additional insight into what it meant to walk it twice in less than 6 months.
